Encouraging, playful, passionate.
Who is matt?
I first discovered yoga nearly a decade ago in my native Australia to complement other physical activity like running and swimming, but before long the practice evolved into a regular staple in my life.
Having trained in Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga with Sampoorna Yoga, I continue to return to my school in India to deepen my practice and assist on training programmes. I’ve completed study with Norman Blair in Yin yoga and am currently working towards my advanced teaching training with Jason Crandell in London.
I am an advocate for the accessibility of yoga, guiding my students through mindfully sequenced classes, focussing on good alignment principles and using the practice to unlock potential, both physically and emotionally.
With a style of teaching that emphasises an awareness of breath, mindful movement and intention, my anatomically-focussed classes offer the opportunity to awaken and renew both body and mind.
Expect a grounded approach to the practice that comes with a sense of playfulness, open-heartedness and an exploration of self through this moving meditation.
My teaching is a reflection of my practice. As a student always, I engage in on-going learning by attending regular workshops and trainings with teachers that inspire me, including Jason Crandell (US), Norman Blair (UK), Noah Mazé (US) and Shiva Rea (US).
